New building of the Specialist Hospital in Branice

Expansion of the Ks. Bishop Józef Nathan Specialist Hospital in Branice by a building with psychiatry wards for adults

Conceptual design for the expansion of the specialized hospital complex with a new building with three adult psychiatry wards. The building is similar in size to the other existing historic buildings of the hospital complex. It was located in the western part of the hospital complex in place of three buildings with auxiliary functions intended for demolition. The building was designed in a simple form referring to the historic buildings of the hospital in order to maintain the uniform character of the establishment. The modern character is given by the minimalist aesthetics and details of the building. On the three above-ground floors, the building contains three independent adult psychiatry wards and on the underground floor it contains warehouses, technical and utility rooms and changing rooms. The underground storey, due to the sloping terrain, is partially exposed on the south side allowing direct access from the level of the technical road. This provided easy access for deliveries and technical matters.
