“Starka” restaurant and hotel

Reconstruction and expansion of the “Starka” restaurant located in a historic tenement house on the bank of the Oder River, in the city center, right next to the Piastowski Bridge. The reconstruction included improving the restaurant space inside the building and creating a glazed terrace opening the restaurant to the Oder River and allowing for a meal with a view of the beautifully illuminated bridge and the opposite bank. A new fragment has been added to the historic part, which houses a small hotel of a high standard. The architecture of the hotel combines the dimensions, divisions and materials present in the historic part with modern details, continuing the historic frontage on the Oder River. The project was created in cooperation with the provincial conservator of monuments, so as not to disturb the atmosphere of the neighboring buildings and especially the tenement house in which the restaurant is located, entered in the register of monuments. The buildings are one of the elements of reviving the Oder River and opening Opole to it. Along with the nearby Oder boulevard, park and historic center, it is the most beautiful part of the city.
